A screen recorder for macOS
macOS requires your permission before any app can record the screen. ScreenCapturePro shows an Enable button that opens the right page for you. You can also open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording yourself and switch ScreenCapturePro on. macOS may ask you to quit and reopen the app before the change takes effect.
Choose Select Region and drag a rectangle over the area you want. The size is shown as you drag. Press Esc to cancel the selection. Only that area is recorded.
ScreenCapturePro records a region of the screen, not a window as such. To capture one window, draw the region around it.
Yes: the audio your Mac is playing, kept in sync with the picture. It is captured before the volume control, so it still records when your speakers are muted. It does not record from a microphone.
MP4 or MOV, both with H.264 video and AAC audio. You choose where to save in a standard save dialog.
Yes. Pause and resume as often as you like. Paused time is not written to the file.
Yes. In the options you can set an auto-stop after a number of seconds or minutes. A Remaining countdown is shown, and turns orange for the last 10 seconds. Time spent paused does not count towards it.
Yes. It is read from the file on disk as it grows, not estimated.
Wherever you chose in the save dialog. After saving, Show in Finder reveals the file and Open opens it.
