DiskSenseAI — Utilities
See what is using your storage. Decide for yourself what goes. DiskSenseAI analyses a folder you choose with the system open panel and reports what is using the space: a category breakdown, the largest files and folders, files not modified in six months, one, two or three years, and duplicate files verified by a full SHA-256 hash. It never says a file is safe to delete — "worth reviewing" is the strongest thing it says — and it has no delete function at all: Reveal in Finder is the only file action, and the app is sandboxed with read-only access to the folder you picked, so it cannot change your files. The report is written by the app and is complete on its own; the optional AI report needs a Mac with Apple Intelligence, and when that is unavailable nothing is missing. It runs on an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 26.4 or later — a floor set entirely by that AI report, which nothing else in the app requires.
- Duplicates verified by a full SHA-256 hash of distinct physical files, not guessed from name or size
- Hard links are listed as further paths to one file, never counted as space you could reclaim
- A folder it could not read makes the scan partial: totals become "successfully analysed", and what was missed is stated as unknown
- The model never produces a figure, a filename or a date — it only orders pre-written sentences, and every number is computed on your Mac
Platforms: macOS.
