What it does

Links in, video files out

Paste one or more video links and Video Grabber saves each one as an H.264 MP4 at up to 1080p, 720p or 480p — or as M4A audio only. Ask for a whole playlist and it fetches every item. Everything goes into a folder you choose, and the files open in any Mac video player.

Requirements

What you need

macOS 14 or later: One universal app for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
An internet connection on first launch: It downloads about 75 MB of free tools the first time it runs (see Credits).
Price: Free. No account, no subscription.

Install

Three steps

Download and open VideoGrabber-1.0.dmg.
Drag Video Grabber into Applications.
Open it and paste a link.

It is distributed from this site rather than the App Store, signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Responsible use

Your videos, or ones you may save

Only download videos you own or have permission to save.

Many sites’ terms restrict downloading, and copyright applies to what you save. You are responsible for what you download.

Privacy

It collects no data

Video Grabber has no analytics, no account and no tracking, and sends nothing about you or what you download to TraLand.com.

It connects only to the sites you ask it to download from, and to fetch and update its tools: GitHub (yt-dlp and Deno) and ffmpeg.martin-riedl.de (FFmpeg). Each tool is checked against its published checksum before it is used.

Video Grabber is the Mac app around three free tools. They are not bundled: the app downloads each one from its official source on first launch, under its own licence.
